Congratulations Chef Siyana

Congratulations to our Year 9 pupil, Siyana. Following an email from Miss Campbell, Head of Design, Technology & Engineering, in October 2021, Siyana was inspired to enter the Aspiring Student Chef (11-13) competition organised by Inspiring Culinary Generations (ICG).  https://www.icgcompetition.co.uk/

This national competition is designed to acknowledge and encourage excellence in the catering industry and in the home. Following submission of her entry, she was shortlisted for the finals and was invited to the national 'Masterchef' style cook-off against 5 other aspiring chefs at Bournemouth and Poole College on 28th January 2022.

For her entry, Siyana prepared and cooked a red Thai curry with jasmine rice accompanied by a crunchy Thai mango salad in 90 minutes.

The final was judged by a team of esteemed judges chaired by Lesley Waters (celebrity TV chef). After careful deliberation, she won the competition and won an array of prizes including a cash prize of £200 and £100 worth of cookware.

Siyana's parents said:

We are very proud of her and felt it was something to share with the school to inspire and motivate other children who share a passion for food.
