United against bullying
We are delighted to announce that Leicester Grammar School and Leicester Grammar Junior School have jointly been awarded the 'United Against Bullying SILVER School status' by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. This recognition, awarded to only a select few schools nationwide, highlights the schools' efforts in combating bullying and enhancing the overall wellbeing of its pupils.
Out of the 296 schools that participated in the rigorous program this year, Leicester Grammar School and Leicester Grammar Junior School stand amongst the elite, with only 11% achieving Gold status, 24% Silver, and 55% Bronze. The school's journey to Silver status was spearheaded Mrs Ewington, Director of Wellbeing and Co-Curricular, and Mrs Strong, the Junior School Deputy Head (Pastoral), who worked hand in hand with pupils and staff.
The United Against Bullying programme is the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s free whole-school anti-bullying programme. It supports schools to reduce bullying and improve the wellbeing of all children, focusing on those most at risk, including children and young people with SEND, children and young people who experience racist and faith-targeted bullying, sexual bullying, homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, looked-after children, young carers and those on free school meals.
