Anti-bullying
The Diana Award
Since 2019 Leicester Grammar School has worked with The Diana Award to train pupils to become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. Their mission is to promote an Anti-Bullying message and offer support to those pupils within our community who feel isolated.
We are proud to be associated with a charity set up in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, a person who changed the lives of many and who believed that young people have the power to change the world. Our Anti-Bullying work encourages change in attitudes and behaviours for young people by young people, to make our community a better place.
In addition to our work with The Diana Award we have joined forces with the Anti-Bullying Alliance to participate in their United Against Bullying programme and achieve United Against Bullying School status.
United Against Bullying Programme
Leicester Grammar School has been awarded 'United Against Bullying SILVER School status' in recognition of our work to reduce bullying and improve wellbeing for pupils. Of the 296 schools which completed the programme this year, 11% achieved Gold, 24% Silver, and 55% Bronze.
The United Against Bullying programme is the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s free whole-school anti-bullying programme. It supports schools to reduce bullying and improve the wellbeing of all children, focusing on those most at risk, including children and young people with SEND, children and young people who experience racist and faith-targeted bullying, sexual bullying, homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, looked-after children, young carers and those on free school meals.
