Scholarships and Bursaries

The School offers a range of scholarships to recognise outstanding academic, musical, artistic or sporting talent and potential. These are awarded on the basis of examination and/or assessment. Awards cover entry at all ages from Year 7, including Sixth Form.

The fee remission associated with scholarships is not dependent on financial means and is usually worth 5 or 10% of the termly fee.

Scholarships are awarded by the Headmaster and are conditional on the recipient playing a full and active part in the life of the School.

We are keen to make a Leicester Grammar School education accessible to as many suitable applicants as possible, regardless of financial means. Bursary support is available either for new applicants to the School or for existing pupils whose circumstances have changed, and only from Year 7. Bursaries of up to 95% of the termly fee are available, subject to rigorous testing of financial need and limited by the overall bursaries budget.

It is sadly the case that the number of applications for assistance greatly exceeds the ability of the School to provide such help, so please note that these awards are not guaranteed.
