GCSE outcomes to celebrate for Leicester Grammar pupils

Year 11 pupils at Leicester Grammar School have plenty to celebrate today! Their GCSE results are in, and we are delighted that 56% of all grades were awarded at Grade 8 or Grade 9, while 77% were Grade 7 or above, making these among the strongest results in the school’s history.

The results are richly deserved by this happy and hard-working group of pupils, with many exceeding even their own expectations. In total, 20 pupils achieved Grade 8 or 9 (broadly equivalent to the old A*) in 10 or more GCSEs.

Our Headmaster, Magnus Anderson, commented:

This is a super year group who have made a huge success of their GCSE years. Their results are exceptional, but are just one example of their success. This cohort includes some of our most talented sportspeople, including several following club and county development pathways, as well as nationally recognised musicians and gifted actors. They have thrown themselves enthusiastically into the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and a whole range of other co-curricular opportunities. Most importantly, they have supported one another throughout their journey, meaning these results are a genuine team effort.

We are delighted that most of these pupils will remain at Leicester Grammar School for Sixth Form, where we have no doubt that they will continue to thrive as they develop into the leaders, innovators and professionals of the future.

LGS still has a limited number of places to join our successful Sixth Form in September 2026. Please contact Admissions for further information.
