Celebrating shortlisting as TES Independent Senior School of the Year

Having earlier this academic year been named Sunday Times 2024 East Midlands Independent Senior School of the Year, LGS has now been shortlisted as one of eight national finalists for this prestigious TES award. The school's entry is entitled: 'Academic enrichment combined with increased support for wellbeing: a winning formula'. It reflects the outstanding achievements of pupils, as a result of academic inspiration within and beyond the classroom, supported by a focus on community and individual wellbeing and care.

Headmaster, John Watson, commented: "The heady mixture of academic spark and enrichment and a focus on wellbeing has inspired our happy school community of learners and teachers to achieve remarkable things. We are proud to be Leicester Grammar School."

The Tes Schools Awards, dubbed the ‘Oscars of education’, constitute a prestigious awards programme which celebrates the best of education across the UK. The shortlist was compiled by a panel of expert judges, including school leaders and other experts. The schools and teachers they chose showcase the best of education across the sector within 21 award categories, covering all areas of school education.
