Isabelle Wins International Ancient Worlds Competition

We are delighted to congratulate Isabelle (Year 12) on her outstanding success in the LSA CA Ancient Worlds Competition, held at AKS Lytham and supported by the Classical Association.

This international public-speaking and presentation competition attracts hundreds of entries worldwide. After submitting a video presentation responding to the 2026 Big Question, “If you could resurrect any ancient figure today, who would it be and why?”, Isabelle was selected as one of just four finalists invited to present in person.

At the final, judged by a panel including guest judge Misia Butler (from Netflix’s Kaos), Isabelle won both the People’s Choice Award and the Judge’s Award, making her the overall winner.

Isabelle selected Aspasia of Miletus, presenting a compelling case for her relevance and influence in the modern world.

This is an exceptional achievement and a wonderful reflection of Isabelle’s confidence, scholarship and passion for the ancient world. We are extremely proud of her success.
