Bursaries
Parents may apply for bursary support when their child first applies to the school, or at another time if their financial situation changes significantly. Bursaries are means-tested, which means that parents must share detailed financial information with the school to access bursary support. Bursaries are also dependent on pupil academic performance, either in the entrance exam or internal exams (if the child is already at the school). Only pupils showing good academic potential, or already performing at a good academic level, are likely to be able to access bursary funding.

LGS Bursaries for entry into Years 7 to 12
We are keen to make a Leicester Grammar School education accessible to as many suitable applicants as possible, regardless of financial means. Bursary support is available either for new applicants to the School or for existing pupils whose circumstances have changed, and only from Year 7. Bursaries of up to 100% of the termly fee are available, subject to rigorous testing of financial need and limited by the overall bursaries budget.
It is sadly the case that the number of applications for assistance greatly exceeds the ability of the School to provide such help, so please note that these awards are not guaranteed.
